EXPERIENCED LICENSED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: Day shift (Monday to Saturday)

Work Location: In-Person.

This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles and servicing auto repair shop equipment, specifically:

  • Diagnose and identify vehicle repairs and/or malfunctions.
  • Determines the cause of any defects and completes approved repairs.
  • Perform vehicle repairs or maintenance efficiently and accurately, based on manufacturer guidelines and standards.
  • Inspects vehicles to determine whether additional safety or maintenance work is required or recommended.
  • Inspect vehicle engines in operation, road test motor vehicles, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Inspect vehicle computers and electronic systems to repair, maintain, and upgrade.
  • Perform routine maintenance work to ensure the functionality and longevity of the vehicle.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, including fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engines and drive trains, emission control and exhaust systems, cooling and climate control systems, and electrical and electronic systems, using hand tools and specialized automotive repair equipment.
  • Document all vehicle repairs and maintenance performed on the repair order.
  • Ensures that the customer’s vehicles are clean. Reports any incident that may affect the appearance or condition of a vehicle.
  • Reports any defective or poorly functioning equipment to his or her supervisor.
  • Road test vehicles as required.
  • Maintains all the tools and manuals belonging to the dealership and takes responsibility for them; returns them to the correct location.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

ABOUT YOU: 

Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience as a technician, including:

  • 2 to 5 years proven experience as an Automotive Service Technician 
  • Post Secondary School diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • 310S Mechanic License in good standing.
  • ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Driver’s License and clean Drivers Abstract
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and strategic.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism.
